The short answer. A good compliance training provider shows you what you are buying, so you can check it before you pay anything. That means the accreditation on each course, a written quote for your team, the records your auditor will ask for, and a free trial of the real course.
Below are the nine questions to ask, with our answer to each one as well as a link to the page where you can check it.
Written by ProCompliance Services Ltd for UK employers comparing compliance training providers.
How ProCompliance answers all nine
Each line below takes you to the question, then to our answer and the page that shows it.
- Each course page shows its own accreditation
- A written quote for your team, usually the same working day
- Records an auditor will accept, ready to export
- Courses written in house, with updates included
- A free trial of the course you need
- Short courses, most under an hour
- The renewal price in your quote, and your records stay yours
- UK phone support included, whatever your size
- Works on desktop, tablet and phone, with no app to install
On pricing. Once we know your requirements, we find the best value option for you. We then send a written quote, usually the same working day, showing what you get, what it costs and what it renews at.
Is each course accredited, and can you check it?
What to look for
Accreditation is given course by course, so ask which courses carry IOSH approval or CPD accreditation, and where you can see it for each one.
How we answer it
Each course page shows the accreditation that course holds, in its own row: IOSH approval, CPD accreditation or both. IATP also audits and endorses our two asbestos courses, and the certificate a learner receives carries the same marks.
That means you can check the exact course before you assign it.
What will it cost for your team?
What to look for
Most providers quote on request, because training is usually built around a team. Ask each one for a written quote for your whole team, including what it renews at, so you can compare them fairly.
How we answer it
We quote for your team, because every business needs something different. Once we know your requirements, we find the best value option for you. The written quote shows what you get, what it costs and what it renews at, with one total for your business.
We usually send it the same working day, by email, with no obligation.
What records will you get?
What to look for
An auditor will ask to see your compliance training records, so check what a completion record shows. Ask whether certificates are issued automatically, whether you can export a report by team or by course, and whether the record stays when someone leaves.
How we answer it
Each completion record shows the learner, the course, the score, the date and the certificate, and it also stays on your account after the person has left. Reports filter by course, user and date, then export, so the evidence is ready whenever someone asks for it.
The Globe issues certificates automatically, then adds an expiry date where a course has one.
Who updates the courses when the law changes?
What to look for
UK law keeps changing: for example, the sexual harassment duty changed in 2024 and changes again in October 2026. Ask who updates each course, how quickly, and whether updates cost extra.
How we answer it
We write our own courses, so we update them ourselves and every update is included. We also keep 11 legislation pages that link each duty to the courses that cover it, which shows us straight away what needs updating when the law moves.
Can you try the course before you buy?
What to look for
The best test of a course is the course itself, so ask for a free trial of one your team actually needs, with the real content, test and certificate.
How we answer it
Yes. Tell us the course you need, then we set up a free trial of it, with the real content, the real test and the real certificate.
That way you know it suits your people before you pay for anything.
How long are the courses?
What to look for
Short courses get finished, and a finished course is the record you need. Ask how long each course takes, and whether learners can stop and pick up where they left off.
How we answer it
Most of our courses take between 15 minutes and an hour, so they fit around the working day. Learners work at their own pace, their progress saves as they go, and they can pick up where they left off.
What happens at renewal?
What to look for
Ask whether the price changes at renewal, how much notice you get, and whether you keep your training records if you ever move on.
How we answer it
Your quote shows the renewal price before you sign, and we get in touch 60 to 90 days before the renewal is due. If nothing changes, your subscription renews on the same terms, and you can change or end it with 30 days' written notice. Your training records also stay yours, and the completion history exports whenever you need it.
When a team joins us, we import agreed completion records and renewal dates, so existing compliance training keeps its original expiry dates.
Is UK support included?
What to look for
Ask who answers when you need help, whether they are based in the UK, and whether account management is included for a team your size.
How we answer it
Yes. Our UK team answers on 01344 957 700 whether you have 5 users or 500, and account management is included. The people you speak to are the team in Bracknell who look after your account, so they already know it.
Will it work on your team's phones?
What to look for
Many people train on a phone, away from a desk, so ask whether courses run on a phone and whether progress saves if the signal drops.
How we answer it
Yes. Courses run in a web browser on desktop, tablet and phone, with no app to install. Progress saves as learners go, so they can finish a course over several sittings.
You can also try it on your own phone during the free trial.

What your compliance training records look like
This is the course report in The Globe. It lists each learner's course, result and completion date, and it also filters by department, location, course or status.
From the same screen you can export the report, download certificates in bulk and send a reminder to anyone still to finish, making admin simple.

The nine questions, as a list you can send
Copy these into an email to every compliance training provider on your list, including us. Then compare each reply with what a good answer looks like.
Which of your courses are accredited, and by whom?
A list, course by course
What will it cost for our team, and at renewal?
One total, in writing, for both years
What does a completion record show?
Name, course, score, date and certificate, ready to export
Who updates a course when the law changes, and does it cost extra?
The provider's own team, with updates included
Can we trial the actual course we need?
Yes, on a course you choose
How long does each course take?
An approximate time for each course
Do we keep our training records if we leave?
Yes, and an export whenever you need it
Is UK support and account management included for a team our size?
Included at every size, with a named contact
Can our staff complete courses on a phone?

Is compliance training a legal requirement?
For most UK employers, yes. Section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 requires employers to provide the information, instruction, training and supervision necessary to ensure employees' health and safety, so far as is reasonably practicable. Individual regulations then add their own duties on top. The current HSE figures show why the duty matters.
